A four-year-old girl from Indiana wanted to ride a horse, and her family had prepared to fulfill her wish, but things took a different turn when the little one met an accident. What happened next was something no one saw coming.
While parents try to provide their children with the best things in life, certain circumstances are beyond their control. When it comes to fate’s cruel plans, parents feel helpless because there is nothing they can do to save their kids.
An Indiana family had similar feelings when their little one lost her life. Instead of watching her play with other children, the devastated parents had to prepare for her funeral.
The Little Girl
Tyler McGee and Bianca Nelson welcomed their baby girl, MaKinleigh Ann McGee, on April 6, 2018, in Evansville, Indiana. The couple was delighted to hold their baby girl in their arms.
As she grew older, her parents celebrated every milestone she achieved. MaKinleigh was the second child, with one elder brother and two younger siblings.
Little MaKinleigh dreamt of riding a horse, so her parents had planned to take her to Lark Ranch in Evansville. The little girl also wanted to dress up as a princess on Halloween, but her life ended before she could live her dreams.
The Unfortunate Incident
Things took an unfortunate turn for the family on October 7, 2022, when MaKinleigh suddenly passed away in a horrifying car accident. The incident left her parents devastated. MaKinleigh’s aunt, Kristin Pride, said:
“We weren’t prepared to lose our sweet girl, as no one should ever have to bear this heartache.”
The same day, Pride set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the little one’s funeral. She had aimed to collect $15,000 through the online fundraiser. As of October 13, 2022, the family has raised more than $12,000 through 235 donations.
The Devastated Family
MaKinleigh’s sudden death left her family heartbroken because no one expected to lose her at such a young age. Meanwhile, Pride’s father was in the hospital after suffering injuries. She revealed:
“Our dad is still in the ICU, and we aren’t sure what the future looks like for him.”
“Her giggle was contagious, and those big beautiful blue eyes would melt your heart when she would look at you,” MaKinleigh’s obituary read. The family shared they would hold her funeral services on October 15 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg.
The Mom’s Feelings
Nelson experienced something no mother deserved to go through. She helplessly watched her little one breathe her last and later prepared for the funeral. In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, Nelson said:
“God took the most precious, smart, beautiful, caring little girl home, and all I can think of is we needed more time.”
“
All I want to do is wake up from this nightmare
and hear your little voice telling me to wake up,” the heartbroken mother
said
. She also told her Facebook friends that she got an adorable dress and necklace for her baby girl.
